Natty B grew up in Belfast, Maine & discovered reggae while attending boarding school in western Maine. He was immediately hooked by the Gregory Isaacs song, "Rumours" and the riddim that Gussie Clarke put beneath it. It was then that he started his quest for reggae. Hooked on roots reggae more than any other type, his collection has grown vastly over the years. After years of finding only "mainstream" reggae in local record shops, Natty decided to try the Internet. After seeing how much online retailers charged for shipping the "rarer" reggae he decided only one thing could come of it. In December 1998, Irie Bay CD's (ReggaeExpress.com) was born. Irie Bay CD's does not charge shipping fees for almost all of its' orders and never intends on swaying from that philosophy. He believes that his company's philosophy of "the customer first" puts him above the rest. Once at 4,000 hits a month, his site now has upwards of 5,000 a day. His love for the music is what really keeps him going. Doing interviews with the artists (more coming all the time), seeing shows and meeting customers are what he digs most. For over a year he has worked on doing reggae & ska radio shows on the community radio station nearby. His own show, "Ska-tasrophe" is a three-hour weekly show which features, but is not limited to reggae & ska. In 2001, his company plans on releasing ska & reggae compilation albums as well as doing more website hosting and design. When not at the computer he can be found chasing his 15 month-old daughter, Kayleigh, around the farm he resides on. His three canine employees (Marley, Jimmy & Irie) are practically his only means of help and they generally chew on bones rather than shag orders. He also loves reading, downhill skiing and practically anything outdoors.
