The promoters were able to woo the young Marley, who is creating mayhem with his monster hit ‘Welcome to Jamrock’ which samples Ini Kamoze’s 1984 track 'World A Reggae’. The song sits atop charts in Jamaica, Europe, and Canada and is creating just as much fever stateside, enjoying multiple spins on urban radio stations and cable channels like BET. The controversial Sizzla has been a mainstay on the charts since he busted onto the scene with the powerful ‘Black Woman & Child’ album. Irie Jamboree 2K5 will be his first major outdoor event in the tri-state area and fans are ecstatic. Beenie Man has bounced back since the Bogle controversy and is making positive strides on the chart with hit singles ‘A Nuh Me’ and ‘King Of The Dancehall’. A brilliant performance is expected at Irie Jamboree 2K5. Other performers include Richie Spice, Barrington Levy and lover’s rock crooner Sanchez. Last year's Irie Jamboree festival attracted over 10,000 patrons and featured reggae stars Shabba Ranks, Luciano, Freddie McGregor, Half Pint and others. The event was top notch in every way from performances and production to the easy access patrons had entering the venue. This year's festival promises to be even better.
