The Beat's Annual Dancehall Issue Hits the Streets

8/22/05

beat coverThe national world music magazine has done it again for 2005. The Beat has come out with their annual summer dancehall issue, highlighting the year's biggest artists, trends, and events.

With Bounty Killer on the cover, the issue profiles "The Poor People's Governor" as he is known, along with current hot shot Assasin; dancehall's rudebwoy quartet T.O.K.; the not-so-baby Cham; German sensation Gentleman; and master producer Tony Kelly.

Fans can also read up on the recent global roots movement with Jah Cure, Richie Spice, Fyah Blaze, I Wayne, Fantan Mojah, Lutan Fyah, NiyoRah, Sabbattical Ahdah, and more. See how message music has come back to the forefront.

The year could not be complete without covering the Reggaeton movement featuring Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, and Rupee; and in sound system culture, the magazine covers Los Angeles team Aurelito & Shakespeare, who with a vision and an ice cream truck, made their musical dream a reality.

The Beat hand picks their contributors who are specialists in their respective world music fields.

Copies are available at major newstands across the country or visit www.getthebeat.com to subscribe. The world music publication comes out every two months and provides information, news, reviews, interviews, discographies and cultural features to an international audience of avid music fans.
