Rodigan said he was "deeply honoured to have received such a presitigous award and to be joining the ranks of such broadcasting icons." Rodigan's career spans over twenty-five years in the British Reggae scene. He is well respected as the top dog in the dancehalls and on the radio. This super icon was born in the British Military Hospital in Hanover, Germany. He moved to Kidlington, England at the tender age of eight and was inspired by Millie Smalls' musical presence on stage. He quickly developed a love for Reggae music and decided that he wanted to spread the love throughout England. Though he was trained to be an actor, his passion for Reggae couldn't keep him from being a top notch disc jockey He began his broadcasting career
on BBC Radio in the late seventies, moved on to Capital Radio and now
is on Kiss FM in London. Mr. Rodigan is one of the biggest names in the
Reggae industry and is known for his deep musical knowledge when playing
at public events. One of his more popular gigs was a musical clash in
1985, a rematch with his friend and arch-rival Barry G. Congratulations
Mr. Rodigan on this great achievement! |
