Reggae Plus
|
|
|
Out of Canada, ReggaePlus began back in 1995 as a 2-hour radio show on
Mix99.9. Lee Marshall's programme was a concept that attracted close to
_ million listeners during its weekly run. As a sound system ReggaePlus
has covered the "Golden Horseshoe" of Southern Ontario, and parts of Jamaica
over the past 8 years.
14 months ago Lee decided to take it to the world via the internet. The
feeling is that weekly programmes are good, but 24/7/365 would be excellent.
Here they are: http://www.reggaeplus.com/listenNow.html

WWRL 1600 AM
|
|
|
For
decades, WWRL was the nation's flagship station for Black music. In New
York, the entertainment capital of the world, the big 'RL or super 16
as it was known, set the tone for Black radio with music and style that
defined the vibrant generations of the 60's and 70's. From this era emerged
the Memphis soul of Otis Redding and the sultry sounds of Smokey Robinson,
Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass and the unforgettable
polished performances of the Temptations and the melodic harmonies of
the Supremes. WWRL was there making it all happen. No other music era
has ever captured the mood and spirit of this country, and none has proclaimed
the artistry with such power and magic. Its creativity and sheer originality
was indeed America set to music! With increased power, up from 5,000 watts
to a powerhouse position of 25,000 watts, WWRL covers the New York tri-state
with its Soul and Caribbean music format.
Listen to WWRL 1600AM and you will hear a radio station unlike any other.
A station that brings together the Caribbean and African American audiences
by playing the music that celebrates the rich diversity of our culture.
Classic Soul, Reggae, R&B, Soca, Calypso and Sunday Gospel. It's New
York's Urban Mix heard only on WWRL1600.
